Parish Council Elections

Tuesday 7th May 2015

Would You Like To Be A Parish Councillor?

All parish councils are disbanded and new councillors are elected every 4 years. This will happen in Aldwincle on May 7th, the same day as the General Election.

Aldwincle has 7 councillors and anyone who lives in the parish and anyone who lives in or close to the parish, or works in the parish is eligible to stand for election.

This is an opportunity to get involved with running the parish and dealing with matters such as planning, highways, and other issues affecting the well being of the community you live in. We meet every 6 weeks for a few hours, and the workload, which is not onerous, is shared by the councillors. You don't need any previous experience, just an interest in the village, so why not give it a try.

Nomination forms will be available from East Northants Council in March and the deadline for applications is 4pm on 9th April, 2015.

If you would like to discuss what is involved in being a councillor then please contact one of your current councillors, or use the "contact us" tab. Further details are also available from the electoral commission link.
